Bangabondhu Safari park, gazipur, Bangladesh



Bangabondhu Safari park, the second safari park of Bangladesh, is situated  at Gazipur  district of Dhaka division. This safari park is the 2nd but the biggest safari park in Bangladesh. After setting up the milestone in the year 2010, this safari park has been opened for public in the year 2013 just at a distance of 45 kilomneters from the capital dhaka.
How to get there: getting  to the safari park is not very tough. But it is costly of time. one has to travel to Gazipur district. From chourasta, he can grab any public vehicle & get to the park along Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. it is as much easy.
The whole park is set up taking 3690 acres of land of the madhupur bhawal garh at a cost of taka 263 crores. Among the total land, 1 thousand 25 acres of land is occupied by the core safari. the safari kingdom covers 566 acres. Biodiversity park is set up taking 820 acres of land. 769 acres is covered by asian extensive safari. The rest 38 acres is utilized for setting up the bangabondhu square.
 Crossing the huge gate, there can be seen a large lake with concrete statues. These lake & statues attracts the visitors to a great extend. Inside the park, there is the garden of rare trees & herbs, where one can learn about plants; the core safari & the safari kingdom, where one can have the experience of real safari on air conditioned jeeps & buses. There are also observatories for observing animals. These observatories include the macaw land,marine aquarium, butterfly garden, orchid house, vulture corner, carp park, bird show gallery for watching birds and many others. There is also a circular lake where one can experience watching various kinds of ducks & geese along with the experience of paddle boating. There is also a restaurant where one can enjoy food & observe the lions roaming. 

In the largest safari park of Bangladesh, there are about a thousand animals & birds of about 26 varieties. Among them, there are 11 tigers, 10 lions including three white ones. 100 peacocks, about two hundred deer, 4 giraffes, 6 zebras, 13 yuks, 4 elephants, 5 bears, about a large variety of ducks & macaw, & many more.
These animals can be observed from the high eco tower & the observation tower. Besides anyone can have the experience of African Safari in air-conditioned buses & jeeps as it is mentioned earlier.
 Besides these, there are also plantation of more than 63 species of trees. These trees can play a vital role in learning of students.
 It is to be mentioned that,the first safari park in Bangladesh was in the year 1999-2000 at dulahazra of chokoria thana, cox’s bazaar. The name of the safari park was ‘Dulahajra safari park’. But this park could hardly meet the wants of the people of mid Bengal. So in the year 2010,mthe government took the steps to set up a safari park at mid Bengal & gazipur was selected the spot.

Immature( under 18): tk 20
Students: tk 10
Students for study tour group (40-100): tk 400/group.(More than 100): tk 800 /group
Foreign visitors: 5USD/ head.

Ticket inside the park: safari kingdom: tk 50/head; boating: tk 50/head; macaw land, and other  observatories: tk 10/head
